Depression is a very serious problem, it can lead to many harmful things, such as, eating disorders, cutting, substance abuse, suicide, reckless behavior, as well as breaking of relations with people. Depression also affects your social life, your academic life, mind and body.
Being depressed may also lead to low energy and difficulty in concentrating. These can lead to a drop in grade a school, as well as not learning anything in class from not paying attention.
Many use drugs or alcohol to try to self-medicate themselves. They use these substances to get a temporary high that frees them from all their problems and worries. They are looking for an escape and chose the wrong way down. Using these substances either give you temporary relief of the problem or intensifies it. When using these substances for such reasons, there are high chances of getting addicted, and not being able to live without them.
Teens also try to go online and escape their problems, they end up feeling isolated and feeling more depressed
Some try to take away their emotional pain by turning them into physical pain such as cutting, burning and trying to hurt themselves.
Depression, can also make you cut your ties with friends and families, making you feel isolated and lonely.
Cutting- Purposely Cutting yourself anywhere on your body, trying to make your emotional pain into physical pain
Burning- Purposely burning yourself, also trying to make emotional pain into physical pain
Suicide- Trying to end all you problems by killing yourself
None of these solutions will ever help, they will always make things worse for you and the people who surround and care for you.
